Funding Tomorrow's Success Stories

We understand that entrepreneurs often pour their lives into building their companies, so we aim to craft deals that respect that commitment while still providing liquidity and return on investment.

About Us

Investing in ideas, empowering founders

Charles Alexander emerged from the desire to provide entrepreneurs a better exit experience. After our own startup was acquired by a corporation, we endured a painful due diligence and transition process that eroded company culture and diminished founder autonomy far more than necessary. There had to be a better way - one that balanced liquidity and investor returns without compromising legacy.

Thus, Charles Alexander was launched to buy wonderful businesses while letting them stay wonderfully themselves. Today our partnership focuses on buying UK and European companies with up to £100M in revenue within industries like Automotive, Technology, Private Healthcare, Security, Insurance, and subscription models.

Unlike traditional VCs and private equity, we have no intentions of taking control through restructuring, consolidation, or leadership shake-ups strictly aimed at short-term profits. We invest through a long lens that leaves beloved teams, brands, and ways of operating intact.
Who we want to partner with
Charles Alexander seeks partnerships with companies that have moved beyond the startup phase and have built solid, scalable operations behind them. Some criteria that makes a business an ideal candidate:
  • Growing and Profitable
We acquire stable companies with a track record of expanding revenues and healthy profit margins over the past 3-5 years. If you've built processes that allow for growth, your business likely fits our profile.
  • Management-Operated
Our acquisitions are management-operated businesses where the founders have already built an executive team to handle day-to-day leadership. Owner-operated models often tie the fate of the business too closely to a sole founder's involvement.
  • High Cash Generation
With management in place, the company itself should produce strong cash flows over time rather than be dependent on outside fundraising. Consistent, surplus cash flow allows us to further invest in growth.

We believe in helping founders, not just building fortunes
At Charles Alexander, we foster a refreshing, founder-friendly culture that respects the companies we partner with and promotes transparency in our own operations. Some key aspects include:
  • Speak Plainly
We avoid pretentious finance-speak and buzzwords, instead using straightforward language around expectations, process, and vision. We respect people's time and attention spans.
    1
  • Synergy and Independence
We inspire existing leadership teams rather than overhauling them. Every company has room to operate independently while gaining synergies across our portfolio around areas like access to capital, vetted vendors, and expanded professional networks.
    2
  • Vision Enhancement
We see founder visions through to the next stage of growth and development rather than pivoting strategies solely for short-term profits. Company legacies are carefully preserved.
    3
  • Hands-Off Approach
We hire excellent leaders then get out of their way, avoiding unnecessary interference in day-to-day operations. Promoting from within builds institutional knowledge and loyalty.
    4
  • No Narcissists Allowed
Ego has no place when building partnerships and investing in teams. We value emotional intelligence and humility combined with business acumen and bold thinking.
